We are a new home business called Funky Cottage Farm Products based here in Seward.  Currently, we are selling free range chickens and eggs.  We are hoping to sell more "farm fresh" products in the near future.  We are home a lot so feel free to give us a call to come by and pick-up some

About our Chickens & Eggs:

 Our whole frozen chickens are produced by the Hillside Farmers Cooperative near Northfield which is a project of the Rural Enterprise Center (www.ruralec.com).  Here's a description of the Coop. from their Facebook page : 

 “Hillside Farmers Cooperative members produce free range poultry and other naturally grown farm products in southeastern Minnesota. The co-op connects Latino immigrants with established farmers, helping families and our whole community thrive.” 

 The chickens are $3.00/lb.  They range in weight from 3-5 lbs. 

 Our eggs are from  Finca Mirasol farm which is part of the Hillside Cooperative (www.fincamirasol.com) at $3.25/dozen. 

 "These are eggs from free range heritage chickens raised without chemicals, pharmaceuticals or other artificial inputs.  The hens are fed a vegetarian diet and additional flax and camelina for an Omega III rich diet.  Our winter facility is a passive solar designbuilding with daytime roaming space and maximum light, which results in happy hens year round."
